Half Human

Trouble starts when a circus tries to capture a monster worshiped by Japanese villagers, only to end up shooting its son by accident. Directed by Godzilla creator Ishirō Honda, “Half Human” was Toho’s first attempt to capitalize on Godzilla’s success with another monster movie; which would later lead to a shared universe of giant monsters including Mothra and Rodan.

Kaidan/KWAIDAN

Kwaidan (Kaidan, lit. ’Ghost Stories’) is a 1964 Japanese anthology horror film directed by Masaki Kobayashi. It is based on stories from Lafcadio Hearn’s collections of Japanese folk tales, mainly Kwaidan: Stories and Studies of Strange Things (1904), for which it is named. The film consists of four separate and unrelated stories. Kwaidan is an archaic transliteration of the term kaidan, meaning “ghost story”. Receiving critical acclaim, the film won the Special Jury Prize at the 1965 Cannes Film Festival, and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film.

Kakashi (Scarecrow)

Kakashi (Japanese: 案山子, lit. Scarecrow), is a 2001 horror film based on the manga of the same name. The film follows Kaoru Yoshikawa, whose search for her missing brother Tsuyoshi leads her to Kozukata, an isolated village that seems to harbor dark secrets.

The search for her vanished brother Tsuyoshi leads Kaoru to the lonesome village Kozukata in the Japanese back-land. The locals react repelling to her, which the exception of the Chinese girl Sally. As her car breaks down Kaoru is trapped in the village; will she have to repay for something she has done in the past?
